About Fromus Veterinary Group...

The original practice was set up in the 1920s by a local vet, Mr Downey, later joined by Roy Fishwick. In 1965 Mr Downey retired and Mike Hill joined ("Fishwick & Hill"). In 1969 the practice became "Fishwick, Hill and Button" and in 1970 Fromus House was built/opened (the basis of the current building).

The practice changed name to Fromus Veterinary Group in 1980 and was joined in 1988 by Mike Hill's son James.

The building was significantly expanded in 1990 by addition of a first floor with flats and re-worked ground floor layout.

In 1998 James Hill became a full partner, eventually succeeding to Group Principal in 2004.

Originally the Group offered a service to both the domestic, equine and commercial market looking after the many livestock farms in the Saxmundham area. With changes in farming practice and the demise in livestock farming, Fromus Veterinary Group now specializes in domestic companion animals only.

The Group allows for 15 minute consultations and always offers veterinary continuity whenever possible. We offer a 365-day, 24/7 service with the Veterinary Surgeons on call to meet local demand and emergencies.

The practice is also an Approved Veterinary Nurse Training Centre.

The Group employs a number of people including 4 veterinary surgeons, 5 nurses, an office administration manager and other support staff.

The Group also operates a part-time service from Southwold
